Don’t Let Being Scared Stop You

I woke this morning thinking about what I need to do to complete my book on Fear. I began to worry, thinking about some of the personal information I will be sharing. Maybe I don’t want that out there in the world? I considered going back and deleting everything that might be embarrassing, or the stuff that no one knows about me. There will be stories I have never previously shared. Once again it hits me, this is fear. Almost everything that holds us back from living our best life comes from our fears. That great idea that seems silly the next day. The dream you would pursue if only…. Many of us are living our lives like we are waiting for it to end.  Staying home, staying safe, scared to take risks. We are wasting the gift of life that we have.
Are you in a prison of your own making? What would you do if you weren’t afraid? What do you wish you could do? Go do that! You can start small. I learned from my recent survey that many of you are scared to speak up for yourself and to start new things. You do what others want, instead of what you would prefer. You can be bold and strong and do it respectfully without harming anyone else. I often get scared. I have discovered that choosing just one thing that makes me feel uncomfortable or awkward and doing it builds up my bravery muscle. So where you will begin?
